My Grandma

My grandma has blonde hair. She has green eyes. She is 53 years old.

She works in a school. She is a principal. I used to go to her school but then I decided to come to Ireland and I left that school. My Grandma is really kind to me and to everybody else. I lived with her for about 5 years but then I went to Ireland. She was really sad that I had to go to Ireland but now it is fine.

I spent all last summer in Lithuania and I stayed with my grandparents. We went to a lot of places and my grandma bought a lot of stuff for me.

My Grandma and Granddad sends me and my family presents and a lot of other stuff. We talk nearly every day with her. I love my Grandma and I love spending my time with her!!!!!!!!!!

My Granddad

My granddad has brown hair. He has blue eyes. He is 55 years old.

He works at a Children‘s home. It is where couples leave their children if they don’t want to live with them. He works as a person who has to buy all the things they need!!

We spent all last summer together and it was great!!! We went to the beach and we were both swimming there!!! It’s really fun with my granddad at all the time! That’s why I love him so much!!!! He is really kind and really good!!!!! When we meet we have amazing time with him. We are never bored because we have lot things to do together. We go everywhere together, we play games together, we play in the water together and we do much more!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Dark Night.

One dark night the ghost of a soldier  was walking through Galway on his way to Doughiska Park. Suddenly a spaceship landed in front of him. The door opened and an alien came out.

“I have captured all the humans” said the alien. “Oh really?” said the ghost “Well I’m going to free them!!!” The ghost could hear the sound of humans screaming for help.            The sound was coming from the spaceship. “I’m coming to help you”, shouted the ghost.

The ghosts hands started to glow and amazingly, changed into guns! He raised his guns up towards the spaceship and opened fine. He killed the alien. His guns blasted a hole in the side of the spaceship. Hundreds of people came running through the hole.

“Thank you for saving us, we’ll never be scared of you again” said the humans.

The ghost smiled at the people. They all lived happily ever after.

Girls FAI 5-aside Primary Schools Competition by Leah Flynn

On Thursday 24th November eleven girls from fourth class travelled to N.U.I.G.  to play in the FAI 5-aside Primary Schools Girls Soccer Competition. When we arrived we went straight into the changing rooms and got changed. We waited until we were told to come on. Erin was our captain for the first match, then Rachel and then I was captain for the third match. Sinéad also had a turn and was a very good captain. We had a really good   time. We did not win the final but we had a really good time. Thanks to Mrs Mc Mahon who was really nice to offer to coach us and to bring us to the matches. We waited for the bus came and then we went back to school.

Painting Carparks…..by Sinéad King

Our teacher Miss Mc Mahon told us all in fourth class about an art competition that we could enter. The title was ‘’What Galway means to you’’. We were able to draw our picture during our art class in school. My picture was of the long walk in Galway with the Galway hooker in the foreground.

One day soon afterwards Lorna came into teacher with a message and to my surprise Miss Mc Mahon announced that I had won the art competition.

On Saturday the 19th of November I jumped out of bed and went to the Galway Bay FM outside broadcasting unit in Eyre Square as had been arranged. I was brought inside the broadcasting unit and Marc Roberts spoke to me about my picture and my prize and it was live on Galway Bay FM.

My prize was a laptop and my picture is going to be repainted onto a wall in the euro car park off Foster Street. My picture should be repainted by early January 2012. I would like to thank my teacher for organising it. Come back here again in January, to see some pictures from the car park.

FAI 5-aside Primary Schools Soccer Competition by Ciarán Connor

On Friday the 25 of November our school took part in the FAI 5-aside Primary Schools competition. There were many schools there. We had two teams. First we played the other Brierhill team. My team won 7 -0. Our next game was against Menlo. We won 3-0. We then played Menlo’s second team; they were the only team who beat us. They won 2-1. Our next game was tough but we won 6-0. Renmore won the whole tournament. But our team did very well finishing third in the group. Our coach was Ronan. It was great fun.
